MERISUOLA Reel
The XO reel is now available in a Merisuola version.
A reel with a drag mechanism that’s been used for over 20 years, with countless huge fish to its name.
The larger reels are built for hard salmon use and saltwater fishing.
Drag power hits maximum in under 2.5 turns of the drag knob, giving you an impressive max force of 8 kg.
The seals are made in Germany and all bearings come from Japan.
Merisuola 7-8 has the same large-arbor design and the same drag system as the XO 7-8. Still, we’ve increased power and drag capacity on this version.
Merisuola 8-9 is a new additional size in the XO Merisuola reel family.
The 8-9 is the ideal reel for heavier single-hand rods and Switch rods.
The drag system is a slightly modified version of the larger, tougher 9-10 and 10-12 reels, allowing us to build a reel with a sufficiently high maximum drag force.
The frame and spool are machined to reduce weight, but the construction itself makes this spool super rigid.

VMSR89 #8-9 weighs 160 g and can hold a WF9 + 130 m of 30lbs backing.
VMSR910 #9-10 weighs 258 g and can hold a WF10 + 240 m of 50lbs Dacspun.
VMSR1012 #10-12 weighs 269 g and can hold a WF12 + 300 m of 50lbs Dacspun.
